GeNeHetX is an ATIP-AVENIR team (class of 2022) whose goal is to characterize the inter- and intra-patient heterogeneity of pancreatic tumors. The team’s work focuses on two main areas. The first aims to describe the histological and molecular heterogeneity at work in pancreatic adenocarcinomas. These particularly fibrous and highly aggressive tumors form tissue with a complex architecture. The use of tools derived from recent developments in the field of artificial intelligence, combined with spatial molecular profiling methods, now makes it possible to understand the organization of these complex tissues and decipher the role of each cell type. This first area of modeling morpho-molecular heterogeneity is fundamental to the team’s other objective, which is to develop clinical tools, particularly molecular signatures, to aid clinical decision-making. This translational aspect of the research aims to transfer phenotypic description tools (particularly theranostic RNA signatures) for personalized medicine.
