The Centre de Recherche sur l’Inflammation (CRI) is inviting applications for junior group leaders.
The CRI is a world-class inflammation center with high quality research linked to hospitals. It combines research in biology, biochemistry and genetics provides an exceptional translationnal research environment and a renowned master program on inflammation and inflammatory diseases (IMI). The CRI is currently composed of 275 members, 12 research teams in two departments Nephrology, Immunology & Hematology (NIH) and Hepatology & Gastroenterology (HGE) and 10 core facilities including new animal facilities. These facilities provide all the necessary skills and highly specialized equipment for cutting-edge research. The CRI is located on the north of Paris (near the Montmartre area) at the Bichat Hospital it is affiliated to Université de Paris, Inserm, CNRS and Paris Val de seine University Hospitals, and is linked to two laboratories of excellence (LabEx : INFLAMEX and GR-Ex). A priority for the CRI is to promote interdisciplinary research in immunology and inflammation through the integration of innovative approaches in fundamental and translationnal research.
The CRI is opening a call for junior group leaders with expertise in inflammatory diseases and/or inflammation-driven fibrosis and cancer.
Outstanding scientists working on questions related to pathology, immunology and signaling and able to develop projects at the interface with medicine are strongly encouraged to apply. A main objective is to quantitatively understand the transcriptional, biochemical and mechanical basis of the functioning of immunopathology to develop new approaches to treat pathological conditions.
Two positions are available which will be supported by 2 year-package funded by the CRI and lab space. Group leaders will benefit from an extensive support by strong interactions with several well-established core facilities of the CRI (www.cri1149.fr/en/les-plateformes/). These facilities provide all the necessary skills and highly specialized equipment for cutting-edge research.
The candidates are expected to develop projects in collaboration with CRI and Labex groups.
We are looking for outstanding candidates who will complement the existing strengths of the CRI. Scientific excellence will be given the highest priority in the selection of the successful candidate. Knowledge of French is encouraged but not required for applications.
Young researchers will be supported in seeking further kick-off funding from French and European funding agencies (e.g. ATIP-Avenir, Fondation Pour la Recherche Medicale, ERC Starting Grant) and be supported by a mentoring scheme.
The list of current CRI teams is given on our website (http://www.cri1149.fr).
