Job description summary
We are looking for an experienced, highly independent, and dynamic post-doc candidate willing to drive an ambitious project in the understanding of the role of both T lymphocytes and Dendritic Cells in the pathogenesis Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH).

- PHD in immunology
- Strong human Immunology and Cell Biology skills
- Experience with manipulation of PBMCs, cell-culture systems, multi-colour flow cytometry and cell sorting is required
- Previous experience in preparation of cells for transcriptomic and/or single-cell RNA sequencing is desirable, but not mandatory.
- Dynamic personality with passion for innovation and problem-solving
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the initiative to actively communicate with data producers and data users in an interdisciplinary international environment
- Ability to work independently and well-organized in a fast-paced work environment
- Very good proficiency in English both in writing and speaking
The position will be funded for 12 months with possibility for extension.
The salary will be determined based on the previous experience and AP-HP salary scale.
Assignment / contact structure
The position is available immediately at the “Institut de Recherche Saint-Louis” (IRSL) in Paris under the supervision of Pr. Abdellatif TAZI.
Pr. TAZI is head of the Pulmonology department, coordinator of the French National Reference Center for Histiocytoses at Saint-Louis and Principal Investigator in the scientific team of Pr. Vassili Soumelis (INSERM U976).
The reference center has settled a very large cohort of adult patients with pulmonary and extrapulmonary Langerhans cell Histiocytosis (LCH), with a dedicated clinical database and associated banked biological specimens.
We work in close collaboration with fundamental cell immunologists, bio-informaticians, and clinicians to understand the physiopathology of LCH at the basic and translational level. We are particularly interested in deciphering the crosstalk between a specific subtype of pathogenic DC and effector T helper cells. We work mostly with primary PBMC issued from patients, which we use for routine assays (cell culture, cell sorting, flow cytometry, cytokine assays.) as well as high-throughput techniques that we perform in collaboration (transcriptomics, imaging analysis and single-cell RNA sequencing).
